Clockwork Creative is a small but perfectly formed approachable strategic creative agency delivering design and digital solutions for startups, SMEs and well known brands.

The agency is made up of me, Debbie, and a bunch of trusted professional partners and freelancers that I collaborate with depending on a client’s requirements. I combine a broad skill set, knowledge and years of experience to work collaboratively with likeminded businesses on creative projects that can span the entire end to end customer experience.

My Approach

I pride myself on delivering a first class client experience and by working with Clockwork Creative you can expect a tailored approach to your needs. I recognise there’s no one size fits all and each business I work with deserves the benefit of my commitment to understanding their brand, objectives and desired audiences.

Working collaboratively is an important part of the process and we’ll begin with a chat over email, call or even grab an iced coffee if you’re local to talk about your project. After our initial discussion to get to know you and your business, I’ll put together a short proposal detailing project deliverables and costs.

The next steps in the creative process are dependent on the project, but my aim is to always ensure you are kept informed by regular and transparent communication, ensuring expectations are set at every stage. I ensure any partners or freelancers I work with also share my values.

In addition to purposeful design, strategic insight and service excellence, I also understand the importance of project rigor. I therefore adopt tried and tested project management methods, processes and clear documentation.

I’m happy to say I’ve found my approach and client experience really sets me apart from others and why almost all my clients return time after time for design, digital or marketing support.

My story

I’m Debbie, the owner, creative director, designer and strategist at Clockwork Creative. Having formed a passion for art and design in my early teens, I knew then I wanted to pursue a creative career. After graduating in graphic design and illustration in 2003, I went straight into a marketing department designing brochures and I held creative roles ever since.

Before starting Clockwork Creative, I spent 17 years working for businesses from SMEs to FTSE 100 brands, while also freelancing. I held management roles within design, brand, marketing and digital teams and achieved further professional qualifications along the way in Marketing, Agile Project Management and User Experience. My wide-ranging experience has allowed me to constantly develop my creative skills and keep up to date with trends, while understanding the importance of brand consistency and expand my knowledge and skills to include customer behaviour and experience. It’s also given me a strong commercial and strategic mind-set and I’ve learnt from the best in terms of project rigour and business processes.

In 2019 I drew on my knowledge and experience to build a business of my own, Clockwork Creative Consultancy Limited. The brand name was inspired by my love of clocks. Ever since watching the 1960 Time Machine, I’ve had a thing for clocks, clockwork mechanisms, steampunk and suchlike. I also believe clockwork is a great way to describe the experience of working with me – projects run smoothly and easily and to the agreed plan and timescales.
